Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is the ski resort in the French Alps where Chamonix Mont Blanc the real alpine skiing and winter sports happen every winter and spring. In 1924 Chamonix hosted the first edition of the Winter Olimpics. In 1965, a tunnel has been built under the Mont-Blanc, linking Chamonix to Curmayeur in Italy. The tunnel crosses the rock massive right below the Aiguille du Midi peak.
